New Beginnings

Well, it's been over a year since my first blog on here and a lot has happened in that year...not only in my personal life but to our Nation and the World as a whole. I moved to a new house and my children started new schools. I have moved up the proverbial promotion ladder at my place of employment and now have more responsibilities to think about. I have discovered new paths of Enlightenment and re-discovered certain paths that were on the back-burner and placed more importance into their study and understanding.

This blog will be a work in progress and hopefully I will get more subscribers than I got in the last year. That was mostly my fault as I didn't really know how to get the blog out there for people to discover. I will be discussing topics that range from mundane events of my life to my studies of and Journeys through the understanding of Freemasonry, Gnosticism, Alchemy, Vedanta, and many other subjects pertaining to my Path of Enlightenment.

Please sit back, open your mind, and enjoy the musings of my life over the next several weeks as I travel this Path we call life.

In The Beginning....

I'm not sure where to start. I have so many things to talk about and so many topics I would love to discuss with everyone in the vast "blogosphere" but, alas, I do not know where to start. I have so many topics that interest me such as music, spirituality, medicine, technology, history, etc. I could go on forever with all of my interests. I guess one could say that I am a Jack-of-all-Trades and master of none.

I have actually thought for a long time that I wanted to start my own blog but I always ran into the same proverbial brick wall...what to write about. Do I write about me?...no, I'm too boring. Do I write about what interests me?...no, probably still too boring. Do I write about what I think other people would want me to write about?...no, too transparent.

I did write one blog back in 2006 on MySpace about two disgusting words, disenfranchised and entitlement. You can read it here: My First Blog.

So, if you read that one, you can see that I can be very, shall we say...passionate, about certain things. However, I should point out that I was having a bad day when I wrote that and I am, typically, much more fun to be around. It's just that sometimes the human race really pisses me off!

I digress, I apologize. What to write about...

Politics. Oh please! Like anyone else needs to have an opinion about politics right now. That's all we need is some other idiot spouting about why this person should win...or why that person should win. Or, how about we play which greenhouse gas is going to ruin our lives this week. OH...OH...I got it...Which politician is going to promise to lower the gas prices this week and actually not do anything about it?

I apologize again as I digress. OK...back on track. What to write about...

What is writing anyway? I see it as a path for others to understand you while you try to understand yourself. It is a doorway that so many of us leave closed and are afraid to open because we aren't sure we're going to like what we find when we open it. We may find things out about ourselves that we didn't know or were hiding from our consciousness. We may also express things that we don't want others to know or are afraid of what others might think. Although there are many forms of creative expression that the human race has discovered or developed, writing is the one medium that is easiest to understand yet hardest to interpret.

When we open our minds to the possibility of free expression, we can really make things happen. Why do you think free expression of thought has been oppressed by so many governments and rulers throughout history? It is the force that topples oppressive governments and yet it is the foundation of democracy.

Once again...I digress...

The future of this blog is going to be about a lot of different things. It is also going to be my thoughts on a lot of different things. I am open to any topics that anyone may want to talk about. This is going to be slow at first, I imagine. I don't expect a lot of readers right off. Who knows, I may be the only one that ever reads this. If that's the case, so be it. It'll make a great journal for me.

So, here is the challenge...give me things to write about. If you are curious about my opinion on things, then give me ideas. I'm curious to find out what I think also.

Oh, and if anyone cares or likes labels/roles for people...I am a Father, Husband, Son, and Brother. I am a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at a Level One Trauma Center in Southern California. I love music, but do not play an instrument. I am a Seeker of Truth and Light. I am a Freemason and believe in God, but I do not adhere to anyones dogma. I have two quotes that sum-up me. One is by the humble genius J.R.R. Tolkien and the other is by me.

"Not all those who wander are lost"-J.R.R. Tolkien

"Always Search for Simplicity in the Complexity of Everything"-Me

Need I say more? Are you game? Let's get some good "Philosophizing" going here, what do you say?
